Oxford University Press is proud to launch the latest component of The Food Book suite, The Food Book iPad app. The app is the first Australian education food app on the market and its revolutionary features have us abuzz here in the office… and now we are excited to finally share the app with you!


Including all of the recipes and variations from The Food Book, plus the web-only recipes from thefoodbook.com.au , the app is an interactive recipe library for the classroom or home. The app brings recipes to life in a way that we simply couldn’t achieve on the printed page – cook using the hands-free step-by-step mode, watch videos while you cook, jump to your shopping list or save favourite recipes to your own recipe book. You can also edit recipes and add notes or look up an ingredient in the visual glossary. If you can’t remember how to sauté or what julienne means you can jump into the skills section for a demonstration. The app includes all of the stunning photos from the book, all of the videos from thefoodbook.com.au and other exciting interactive features unique to the iPad app such as an inbuilt cooking timer.



In our ongoing support of Australian food educators and their students, we believe The Food Book app will change the way Home Economics and Food Technology is taught in Australian classrooms and be an essential tool for home cooking as well.
